Review: VANTAiO at the DSAG Annual Congress.

From September 26 to 28, the DSAG Annual Congress 2017 was held in the Messe and Congress Centrum Bremen under the motto "Between the Worlds – ERP and Digital Platforms". This year's focus is the transition to the digital world, the increasing challenges facing business and IT and the role that SAP plays in this.

The largest and most important event of the German-speaking SAP user group once again united almost all working circles and groups under one roof this year. More than 4,500 visitors informed themselves in over 280 lectures from 59 topic sessions and a trade exhibition with 175 partners around the topic of SAP.

At the VANTAiO booth, everything truly revolved around the trade fair motto "SAP is moving to the cloud, are you moving too?". We took a closer look at SAP's portal platforms, explained to visitors what scenario is best for them (on-premise, cloud or hybrid), and shared what VANTAiO can do to help companies achieve their individual competitive advantage. There was a lot of interest, and many visitors gathered information about the VANTAiO product range as part of the live demos. Including the latest component of the modular gantry construction kit: the VANTAiO workflowManager – tested on site and found to be very good, among others from the DSAG Board Marco Lenck. Of course, entertainment was also taken care of: even the robots in the audience could not resist the VANTAiO fair game.

The VANTAiO focus topic also reappeared on the very first day of the very busy presentation at the DSAG work circle portals: Thomas Hensel (SAP), Andrea Matthes (SAP) and Michael Beining (VANTAiO) presented their SAP Cloud Platform practical project. Andrea Matthes is the IT project manager for SAP's own corporate portal with more than 90,000 users and reported on the joint project with VANTAiO, which is based on the SAP Cloud Platform portal and mobile access to selected content and services of the existing on-premise SAP Portals should allow. In their role as project manager, they presented the requirements, results and learnings of the multi-month project, for which SAP chose VANTAiO as its partner with its comprehensive portal expertise. Michael Beining demonstrated the current project results of the mobile portal for SAP in a live demo and was subsequently available for technical questions in the Q & A session.

Our conclusion: The interest of SAP customers in the cloud is growing – but previous investments in on-premise system landscapes should also continue to be maxed out. That is why hybrid solutions, which combine both technologies, create optimal synergies.
