Under the motto "(SAP) portals to sink your teeth into!" The VANTAiO Portal Day 2018 took place on June 21 at the Hyatt Hotel Mainz. The response was great - no space was left empty.
The participants experienced a lively and varied program around SAP portal solutions and technologies – with interesting presentations by SAP, VANTAiO and partners. As always, there was plenty of time for discussion and personal exchange during the breaks.
Markus Marenbach kicked off with his keynote speech "From the Intranet to Digital Workplace 4.0 with SAP", which gave an exciting outlook on the workplace of the future. As SAP prepared for this, Thomas Hensel from SAP, Product Expert for SAP Cloud Platform, outlined portals & UX in his presentation "SAP Portal Strategy & Roadmap". Of course, neither SAP NetWeaver nor the SAP Cloud Platform came up short.
After the lunch break, Björn Adam, Head of Software Solutions, VANTAiO, provided the curious onlookers an outlook into the VANTAiO product management workshop. "What does our daily work look like?" and "What is the concrete planning for the next months?" Two of his key topics were "VANTAiO News & Roadmap". SAP customers can among other things look forward to the innovative employee app for the VANTAiO portal solutions, which was announced for Q4 / 2018.
It became even more futuristic with "SAP CoPilot – the digital assistant for the company": Oliver Lehmann, Senior Director, UX & Fiori Product Management at SAP, demonstrated what is already possible on an SAP basis in times of voice-controlled systems such as Siri and Alexa and will be feasible in the foreseeable future. The presented live demo and example scenarios for the SAP CoPilot attracted interest – we say to SAP "Wow!"
After so many new impressions and information, an icecream break was really welcome among the guests. A refreshment suitable for the crisp program – all to sink your teeth into!
Thus strengthened, Michael Beining, Head of Development, VANTAiO, started in medias res with his report on the current portal project for the customer Vaillant. "Collaboration Integration with Atlassian Confluence, Salesforce Chatter & Skype for Business" presented new forms of collaboration in the company and showed how the SAP Portal as an integration platform can bring together a wide variety of collaboration tools (including non-SAP) in a practical way.
Last, but not least: In the partner presentation "HR Portal and Employee App - Processes, Content and Services Under One Roof", Mario Günter, Head of HR Cloud Development Team, T.CON, explained key facts and advantages of the collective offer of T.CON and VANTAiO, and what SAP customers should look out for when developing software in the SAP Cloud Platform.
The summary of the visitors after an entertaining and multi-faceted day: "After the Portal Day is before the Portal Day - we are looking forward to next year!"
