The app is provided free of charge by SAP and integrates seamlessly into your SAP system landscape (e.g., SAP S/4HANA, SAP SuccessFactors, or SAP HCM) – on your smartphone or tablet!
Company news, HR services, applications, and processes are available centrally in one place—secure, mobile, and personalized.

A well-known phenomenon in companies
Despite various information channels, no one knows anything!
Processes that are difficult to access, such as vacation requests or training information, lead to a lack of transparency in internal communication.
A lack of employee involvement leads to frustration and reduced identification with the company.
Important information and self-services only reach employees partially or too late—especially those without a PC or email address.
Time wasted and data protection risks: Managers and HR teams have to pass on information manually or use insecure channels such as WhatsApp.

A lack of employee involvement leads to frustration and reduced identification with the company.
Many companies struggle with heterogeneous system landscapes and information overload: various apps, intranet, wiki, overflowing mailboxes, scattered chats, and outdated notices. Important information gets lost or does not reach employees without a PC at all—resulting in misunderstandings, delays, and additional work.
Emails flood inboxes—important information gets lost.
Intranets are overloaded and hardly tailored to the target audience.
Too many channels (Teams, WhatsApp, etc.) cause confusion.
Applications are complex and difficult to use on mobile devices.
No connection to SAP – manual workarounds necessary.
Loss of productivity due to media discontinuity and different user interfaces of the systems
Communication via private apps jeopardizes data protection.
Approvals and distributions are slow and uncoordinated.
No reading confirmation – no one knows whether information has been received.

Why use an employee app with SAP?
There are numerous providers of employee apps. Most solutions aim to improve internal communication and collaboration within companies. SAP makes a decisive difference here and also offers secure integration of SAP and non-SAP applications.
Integrated self-service functions finally enable blue-collar workers and desk-less workers to submit applications, retrieve certificates, or update their personal data directly and without detours. This makes processes faster, more transparent, and easier to track.
In addition to its mobile, intuitive design, the app not only promotes efficiency but also trust—because every piece of information and every service is secure, relevant, and available exactly when it is needed. Thanks to the secure connection to SAP systems (e.g., SAP SuccessFactors, S/4HANA, HCM, etc.), data remains protected and processes are reliably automated. Login is via single sign-on on the SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP), and all access is role-based and GDPR-compliant.
SAP Work Zone & Mobile Start: The ideal combination
Work Zone delivers the content
SAP customers can use the SAP Mobile Start app. This is a native mobile app that serves as a central entry point for all employees to access applications, content, and messages.
VANTAiO provides tried-and-tested, preconfigured templates for both SAP Work Zone editions that are ready for immediate use. These include roles, pages, and UI integration cards that can be flexibly customized and expanded.
Employees can access their HR services, applications, and information directly via an intuitive, role-based interface—without having to switch systems or take any detours.
Whether it's vacation requests, payroll accounting, or training—all processes are simple, secure, and accessible on the go.
SAP Mobile Start is the native app for mobile access to SAP applications and processes and is included in the standard scope of delivery of SAP Build Work Zone. The app can be downloaded free of charge from the Apple App Store or Google Play, and with just a few clicks, the app provides everything employees need in their daily work—clearly arranged, personalized, and secure.
The latest company news, shift schedules, documents, or internal communications from the HR department are immediately available, regardless of whether someone is working in the office, in production, or on the road.
The licenses for using the two native SAP apps are already included in the licenses for SAP Build Work Zone. No additional licenses, such as SAP Mobile Services, are required. These are only needed if you want to develop, configure, and manage mobile applications based on SAP BTP and need to develop your own apps for iOS or Android. The app can be used on smartphones and tablets. The Apple Watch is also officially supported by SAP, as is the Apple Vision Pro.
